Apple Pie Oatmeal

One of my favourite things growing up was homemade apple pie.  Why just have it as a desert when you can make a healthy version and have it for breakfast.

Ingredients

Spices

  • 1/8 tsp allspice ground
  • 1/8 tsp cloves ground
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg ground
  • ½ tsp cinnamon ground

Ingredients

  • ½ cup raisins optional
  • ½ tsp maple syrup optional
  • 1 small apple
  • ½ cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

Instructions:

  • In a small pot add the nutmeg, all spice, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, raisins, apple and water.

  • Bring to a boil then shut off. Add in your oats stir and cover for 3 minutes.

Tips

  • Raisins, I find these give the dish enough sweetness for me.
  • Maple Syrup, I would put this in only if you require it to be a bit sweeter. (You could also use a sweetener substitute of your choice)
